"The Heartbeat Railway"
Re-live the Golden Age of Steam on one of Britain's most popular heritage
railways. Travel on the 18 mile line though the spectacular countryside
of the North York Moors National Park.
Trains runs between Pickering, Levisham, Goathland, and Grosmont, with frequent daily services throughout the summer, most trains being steam hauled. Buy an all day rover ticket to give you the freedom of the line for the day. The railway provides a limited service only during winter months.
There are gift shops and refreshment facilities at Pickering, Goathland and Grosmont, as well as refreshments being available on many trains.
Getting to the North York Moors Railway
Coastliner routes 840 Leeds to Whitby and 842 Malton to Castle Howard stop in Pickering about 600 yards from Pickering Station, and at Goathland right outside the station itself.
