Senior Citizens & Disabled Persons Concessions
Residents of North Yorkshire and City of York
Holders of North Yorkshire and City of York Concessionary Bus Travel Permits may travel free of charge:
- For any journey that starts or finishes in North Yorkshire and/or the city of York
- After 9am on weekdays, and all day on Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays
Please show your pass to your driver on each journey, but please also state your destination. Even though you are not paying a fare, you will still require a ticket from your driver. Continue to use your existing bus pass, issued by your district council.
Residents of West Yorkshire
Holders of METRO Senior Permits and METRO Disabled Permits may travel free of charge:
- For journeys wholly within West Yorkshire.
- For journeys between West Yorkshire and Tadcaster, provided that the journey starts or finshes in West Yorkshire.
- From 09:30 on Mondays to Fridays, and all day on Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays.
METRO Senior Permits and METRO Disabled Permits are not valid for travel beyond Tadcaster on Coastliner services.
The West Yorkshire boundary is the bus stop at Becca Lodge.
Please show your pass to your driver on each journey, but please also state your destination. Even though you are not paying a fare, you will still require a ticket from your driver. Continue to use your existing bus pass, issued by Metro.
Residents of East Riding
Holders of East Riding green permits may travel free of charge:
- For journeys wholly within East Riding.
- After 09:30 on Mondays to Fridays, and all day on Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays
Green permits are not valid for travel outside East Riding.
Holders of East Riding red permits may travel free of charge:
- For journeys wholly within East Riding.
- For journeys between East Riding and as far as Dringhouses, York College, provided that the journey starts or finished in East Riding.
- At all times
Red permits are not valid for free travel beyond York College. Journeys beyond York College are charged at a supplementary fare.
Please show your pass to your driver on each journey, but please also state your destination. Even though you are not paying a fare, you will still require a ticket from your driver. Use your existing green or new red bus pass, issued by East Riding.
